About the event

If you’re planting a garden in North Texas this is a must see and hear. The North Texas climate can be unpredictable and harsh, with extreme fluctuations in temperature that can range from sweltering heat in the summer to sub-freezing temperatures in the fall and spring. Growing a lush garden here can be a challenge due to our weather conditions. We need plants that can take whatever the weather decides to give them, Texas Tough Natives!

Come and join local plantswoman Jenny Price Nelson and learn about beautiful native plants that can survive and thrive in your garden. There are great reasons for using native plants: They don’t need as much water, fertilizer, and pesticides as non-native plants. Natives are adapted to North Texas’ climate, so they thrive naturally. They attract beneficial wildlife and pollinators to your garden. Natives preserve biodiversity. And, by the way, they look incredible.
