Blue Bird Project
By helping Bluebirds and other cavity-nesting birds we are creating a historical and cultural significance in Texas.
The Frisco Garden Club Bluebird Nest Box project was implemented in January 2023 as our President’s Project. She wanted to have a civic project that was part of our mission statement “to cooperate in the protection of wild birds”. After thorough research, the Bluebird Nestbox project was founded. We purchased 2 nest boxes and we had two sponsors purchase two additional boxes and we placed them at Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center in Frisco. We have bluebird monitors to watch over our nesting boxes during the mating season, February through June.
By helping Bluebirds and other cavity-nesting birds we are creating a historical and cultural significance in Texas.
Our goal is to significantly increase the number of bluebird nesting boxes through-out Frisco for all to enjoy. By providing them with a place to nest, have babies and help them mature safely into adulthood. Bluebird conservation is a science of conservation biology related to threatened birds. We are encouraged to have a profound effect on these beautiful birds.
