Memorial Day Observance

Frisco's annual Memorial Day Observance takes place at Frisco Commons Park (8000 McKinney Road).  The Frisco Garden Club's War Memorial Urn can be seen atop the bandstand at the far side of the ceremonial circle.  Here, the VFW, Frisco Garden Club, and City of Frisco gather annually to honor our men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces.  Recognition takes place on the Monday of the National Memorial Day Observance.

Frisco Garden Club donates the Memorial Urn

1947

The Frisco Garden Club has partnered with the Frisco VFW since dedicating the Memorial Urn in 1947. The urn is made of polished granite and was commissioned from Fredericksburg, Texas.

In 1996, the Frisco Garden Club updated the urn with a bronze plaque honoring Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm Veterans.

The Frisco Garden Club, in partnership with the VFW, sponsors Memorial Day Services every year at this beautiful Veterans Memorial at Frisco Commons Park.
