9/11 Observance

The Frisco Garden Club sponsors an event at the Freedom Meadow Memorial at Warren Sports Complex every year on 9/11.

The 9/11/2020 Remembrance service will be a virtual commemoration this year. We are so grateful to the City of Frisco Communications team for the making of a short video which will be placed on the City of Frisco website and Facebook page on 9/11 and available for viewing and sharing throughout the day.

The program will follow a similar format to previous years. The video will be an edited mixture of pre-recorded live sections and pictures taken at past commemorations. The invocation will be given by Father Michael Gilton, Rector of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, Frisco. The Mayor of the City of Frisco, Jeff Cheney will deliver a message of remembrance. The two wreaths seen in place at the Freedom Meadow memorial are generously donated again this year by Turrentine Jackson Morrow.

Freedom Meadow and the Freedom Meadow Memorial are located at the northeast corner of Warren Sports Park. This Public Park is open to visitors with Social Distancing guidelines in place. The Frisco Garden Club invites you to solemnly visit the physical and virtual sites at your convenience, to honor those lives lost on September 11, 2001.
